DOLLHOUSE, a solo exhibition featuring an installation of sculptural oil paintings and wooden objects, that open into spaces where sight is blocked but imagination moves freely. The works are the embodiment of a red light from an external source shining across her home windows, illuminating the surroundings as a nightly gate into a shady Narnia - a reptile aquarium where bodies dissolve into silhouettes. These scenes appear as glimpsed fragments in other windows across town, expanding the gates into wider horizons. Fifteen canvases are gathered into a single storyline within an installation. The motifs interact, directly or subtly, within the structure of a folding screen - a form traditionally used to create more intimate spaces, to hide, to separate, to fold and unfold. From the picture wall, characters spill into sculptural form - bunnies, butterflies, horses - extending the narrative into three dimensions, forming a dollhouse inhabited by iconic figures: exposing, playing, and capturing fragments of the reality just outside everyone’s windows - the parallel realities alive in dimensions beyond our everyday sights.
